Cortland, Ohio Destination - Appalachian State in North Carolina Interest: Computer Science with a minor in Design
Lindsey developed a complete web page with excellent content, navigation and graphics. She has a strong artistic ability and enjoys trying different medians. She developed her web pages through working with the newspaper class to provide a user-friendly site for the students reflecting the school newspaper, The Bulldog Bulletin.
eSchoolView was very honored to present the scholarship to her and meet her father, Marc. Lindsey is a very modest student and her father pointed out how many hours she spent on this web design project and her diligence with all of her studies. Lindsey did not turn to clip art or stock photography. The bulldog, theater lights as well as everything else was done by using a drawing tablet and zooming into adjust every pixel. The finished product did not appear to be produced by someone attempting to do this for the first time. Her dedication is top notch! She is not afraid to learn new programs on top of the typical senior responsibilities and stress. Lindsey applied for many scholarships her senior year winning several including one of only three from the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Even after realizing how much work goes into a web design, she is still pursuing computer science with a minor in design at Appalachian State in North Carolina. eSchoolView anticipates she will go far in her career and extends their offer of mentorship.
Just two days after eSchoolView presented the award to Lindsey, her father, a Warren County Firefighter was killed in a motorcycle accident. The video presentation captures a lifetime of memories.
eSchoolview has offered to extend Lindsey’s one-time $1,000 award into a four-year gift, given each year of her post-secondary studies.
