Newton Community School District’s new website was designed to increase efficiency, collaboration and parent engagement.

The website, built on a Content Management System created specifically for K-12 schools by eSchoolView, streamlines information so visitors can find information more readily. The improved navigation is displayed front and center and highlights special student, parent and staff sections.

This site is eSchoolView’s first tailor-made website launched in Iowa. The Columbus, Ohio-based company serves hundreds of schools across the country, from the Midwest to California and New York to Georgia. It recently opened a southeastern location in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The site has a compatible mobile version that updates in real time. All eSchoolView mobile sites are built on a responsive platform so the site can be viewed on multiple devices without compromising design or functionality.

Officials from the school district were eager to overhaul the existing site as part of its commitment to build and strengthen relationships with parents and community members. Leading educational research points to a positive correlation between informed residents and their involvement.

The CMS platform that the site is built on was selected for its ease of use; posting information or creating pages is as simple as working in a word processing document. Staff from across the district will have access to the site and teachers will have the ability to create their own pages.

The eSchoolView Content Management System (CMS) has nearly 20 components. News articles, videos, photo galleries, surveys, quizzes and more can easily be added to any page or section of the site.

eSchoolView offers personalized training and support as part of all of its competitively priced contracts — an important element not always included by other providers. Key staff will be taught how to use the system who will train others in the district; support thereafter is unlimited and available by phone, email, virtual sessions and video.
